Graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Mike went on to attend the University of Indianapolis where he completed a post-graduate degree specializing in orthopedic physical therapy, and later completed his Doctor of Physical through A.T. Still University in Arizona. To complement his sports medicine practice Mike also obtained his certification as an athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) and a strength and conditioning specialist certification though the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Mike was a founding member of SST Rehab in 1998, and as President and Director of Sports Medicine now supervises the day to day operations for the company. He continues to treat patients as well as serving as the Coordinator of Clinical Education for the SST. He has been a guest lecturer for several physical therapy programs in the State of Florida, a presenter for the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida (ATAF), the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA) as well as nationally for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
His sports medicine experience includes providing on-site care for the animal training department at SeaWorld Orlando, working with the Orlando Predators, performers from Cirque du Soleil, and talent with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He provided care for the US Women's National soccer team during their Florida residency prior to the 1999 Women's World Cup, and was selected to be part of the medical team for the 2010 Winter Olympics which allowed him to return home to Vancouver and provide care for athletes participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Mike has been utilizing SASTM since 2011 when SST Rehab brought David down to host a seminar. Since then SST has continued to host seminars annually to help bring the SASTM approach to clinicians in the Central Florida area.
